Women’s Only Pistol/CCW Training: Empower Yourself through Firearm Safety
Course Overview
The Lady's Basic Pistol/CCW course is designed specifically for women. It mirrors the Basic Defensive Pistol/CCW course but in a comfortable, all-female environment. This comprehensive course far exceeds Colorado's CCW requirements, preparing students for any defensive situation.
Class Details & Requirements
This course consists of two evenings of classroom instruction and one day at the range. No prior firearm experience is required, and physical conditioning is not necessary. You’ll need your own firearm, ammo, and eye and ear protection for the class.
Payment Information
Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of the $175.00 course fee. Payments are to be mailed to PO Box 3956, Durango, CO. A 20% refund is available if you need to cancel. Late registration must be arranged in advance. Flexible payment options are available.
Class Schedule & Duration
The class meets on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, with range operations on Saturday morning. The schedule ensures ample time for both classroom learning and hands-on range experience. A separate range day may be scheduled for students if needed.
What You’ll Need
Participants should bring their own handgun (we provide loaners if needed), ammunition (150 rounds), hearing and eye protection, and weather-appropriate clothing. Ensure your firearm is in proper working order and bring the instruction manual if possible.
What You Will Learn
The course covers safe gun handling, the use of deadly force, defensive shooting techniques, and proper firearm storage. You'll gain vital skills for using a firearm for self-defense, including understanding the psychological and physiological impact of deadly threats.
What You’ll Receive
Upon completion, you will receive an NRA certificate of safe gun handling, which is necessary when applying for a CCW permit. You’ll leave the class with increased confidence in your ability to safely handle and use a firearm for personal protection.
